Course on Utilizing MPF for Retirement Planning 

The MPFA joined hands with ET Business College of the Hong Kong Economic Times Holdings Limited to organize a short course on the topic "Comprehensive Strategies for MPF Investment and Retirement Planning" on three consecutive Saturdays in March 2014. The course was comprised of lectures delivered by well-known academics and an investment expert.

There were also demonstrations on how to use various useful tools on MPFA website, such as MPF Calculators, Trustee Service Comparative Platform, Fee Comparative Platform and Low Fee Fund List. Participants were given the opportunity to try them with computers provided on site.
 
Dr Billy Mak    The first lecture was given by Dr Billy Mak, Associate Professor, Department of Finance & Decision Sciences of The Hong Kong Baptist University. He talked about how to select MPF schemes and funds that suited one's individual needs.
 

Mr Simon Lee    The speaker of the second lecture is Mr Simon Lee, Senior Lecturer (Accounting and Finance) of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, CUHK Business School of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He explained the various types of MPF fund fees and how fund fees would affect the amount of MPF benefits that could be accumulated over the long term.

Mr Arthur Shek    Mr Arthur Shek, Associate Publisher and Head of Research Department of the Hong Kong Economic Times, shared his views on the investment market outlook for 2014 in the last lecture. He also urged scheme members to do their homework before making investment decisions.
