To instill the merits of developing the good habit of saving for the future among primary school students, the MPFA has organized an “MPF Story-writing Competition for Primary School Students” in conjunction with the Sing Tao Publishing Ltd.  A comic strip (in Chinese) has been developed to illustrate the benefits of saving and to encourage students to work out with their parents some effective and creative ways of saving for themselves.

The Competition, divided into Junior Group (for Primary One to Primary Three students) and Senior Group (for Primary Four to Primary Six students), was held in December 2007.  The Competition has met with favorable response and over 30,000 entries were received.  An Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 19 January 2008 and a Seminar on Financial Education for Kids was organized right after the ceremony.  A child education specialist and a famous local artiste had shared their knowledge and experiences at the seminar.
