Saving Plan Writing Competition for Primary School Students and Saving Plan Comic Creation Competition
To help educate children the proper concepts of money and attitudes towards spending and saving, the MPFA has organized a Saving Plan Writing Competition for Primary School Students and a Saving Plan Comic Creation Competition in partnership with Yellow Bus Magazine from November 2008 to February 2009.
The objectives of the competitions were to imprint on primary school students the importance of saving for the future by encouraging them to prepare their own saving plans, and to bring out the message about use of money for charity purpose.
The competitions received favourable responses and over 20,000 entries were received.
A parenting day camp which comprised games, workshop, seminar for parents and prize presentation ceremony for the Saving Plan Writing Competition and Comic Creation Competition was held on 7 February 2009 to further disseminate money management concepts and MPF messages to winners of the competitions and their parents. A child financial education consultant, a child psychologist and a famous local artiste had shared their knowledge and experiences at the seminar.
Please refer to the Chinese webpage for details of the competitions and the day camp.
