Does a student who takes part in an internship programme need to be enrolled into an MPF scheme?
Answer:
If there is an employment relationship between the student and the offering organization for a continuous period of not less than 60 days (unless the student is a casual employee in the catering or construction industry), the offering organization is required to enroll the student into an MPF scheme within the first 60 days of his / her employment and make mandatory contributions for him / her accordingly unless he / she is an exempt person.
