Why do I need to sign the consent form?

The consent form is requested by the MPFA for the purpose of monitoring whether an MPF individual intermediary fulfills the requirement in respect of continuing professional development (“CPD”) as stipulated in the Code of Conduct for MPF Intermediaries and the Guide to CPD for MPF Intermediaries, in order to remain fit and proper to be registered as MPF intermediaries.

What are the consequences if I fail to sign the consent form?

The MPFA may conduct checking on MPF individual intermediary’s CPD records and failure to sign the consent form may mean that the MPFA is not aware of your attendance of any core CPD courses.

Does the MPFA recognize the core CPD hours acquired if I do not sign the consent form?

Yes, the MPFA recognizes the core CPD hours if MPF individual intermediary has successfully completed the approved CPD activities even though he refuses to sign the consent form. However, please refer to Question 4 for the consequences of failure to sign the consent form.

Yes, the MPFA requires your consent to the course providers in order to obtain your CPD records from the course provider for the purpose of CPD compliance monitoring.

What is the responsibility of course provider in keeping the consent form which has been incorporated in the application/enrollment form?

Course provider should keep the records for a minimum period of three years and submit the records to the MPFA upon request.
