Six employers ordered to pay MPF contributions

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority pursued six claims in the Small Claims Tribunal today (22 July) for some $150,000 on behalf of 30 employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employers.

At the Tribunal's hearing today, three defendants, namely Loyalty Holding Limited, Mix International Limited and Inner-Pipe Construction (Hong Kong) Limited, did not dispute the amounts claimed. The Adjudicator ordered them to pay the MPFA sums of $24,720, $21,990.91, and $21,338 respectively, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

The other three defendants, namely Full Success Holdings Limited, Yuk Ming Holding Limited and Hundred Construction Engineering Limited, did not appear. In their absence, the Adjudicator ordered them to pay the MPFA sums of $36,992.15, $33,705, and $11,363.66 respectively, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

The amounts awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The Adjudicator also ordered the respective defendants to pay $126, $126, $165, $176, $217 and $135 as the costs in respect of the claims.
