Two employers ordered to pay MPF contributions

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (30 July) obtained two orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions of about $442,000 against two employers in the District Court.

The District Court today granted two judgments against two employers, namely Sun Luen Auto Body Works Limited and Tastecreator Brand Management Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA $313,099.81 and $129,153.2 respectively, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 11 and 53 employees of the respective defendants.

The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered each defendant to pay the cost of $930.
