OVERVIEW In addition to supervising MPF trustees and intermediaries under the MPF System, the MPFA also assumes the role of the Registrar of Occupational Retirement Schemes in administering the Occupational Retirement Schemes Ordinance (ORSO). Our work in this area includes: Processing of Applications - The MPFA is tasked with the primary responsibility of getting occupational retirement schemes registered under the ORSO. Monitoring of Registered Schemes - The on-going monitoring of all registered schemes through a thorough reporting process. Liaison with Professional and Industry Bodies - The MPFA maintains close contact with various professional bodies and industry associations which have a keen interest in the retirement schemes industry. The MPFA is also responsible for exempting certain qualified ORSO schemes from MPF requirements, issuing guidelines and monitoring MPF exempted ORSO schemes under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (Exemption) Regulation.
