Working together to support your MPF

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) and the Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Co., Ltd (Commercial Radio) today (June 11) jointly organized an "MPF Day" at New Town Plaza in Shatin, kicking off a series of new public education and publicity programmes in the coming few months.

Officiating at a lighting ceremony, the MPFA's Deputy Managing Director, Mr Alan Wong; the Commercial Radio's Chief Operating Officer, Mr Lawrence Cheng; and "MPF Star" Mr Aaron Kwok made a joint appeal to different sectors of the community to support the implementation of the MPF System.

Mr Wong said: "The MPF System will come into full operation on December 1 this year, providing retirement benefits for the working population of more than three million workers.

"We are most grateful to the Commercial Radio and our MPF Stars for their invaluable support for MPF. We hope employees will learn more about the System and get prepared for its implementation."

Today's event was attended by other three MPF stars, Ms Josie Ho, Ms Lee Shan-shan and Ms Christine Au Yeung. Apart from distributing souvenirs, they participated in games with the audience to spread the MPF messages. To provide the public with more information about the MPF, an enquiry counter and display panels were set up at the venue.

The MPFA will carry out a series of new public education and publicity programmes in the coming few months. Starting from tomorrow, the Commercial Radio will broadcast different appeal messages by business leaders and entertainment celebrities in support of the MPF System.

In the next three months, the MPFA will organize roving exhibitions in 45 public housing estates. A territory-wide "Operation-All-Shops" will take place between June 29 and July 7, during which a team of MPFA ambassadors will reach out to shops in the 18 districts, distributing publicity materials and answering questions about MPF.

In August, the MPFA will organize an "MPFA Super Expo" at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre together with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. All major MPF service providers will participate in the exhibition to display their MPF services and products.
