Candid dialogue between MPFA Chairman and the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong on MPF (13 September 2021)

MPFA Chairman Mrs. Ayesha Lau visited the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong CMA) today (13 Sept) to exchange views with its leadership on the latest developments of the MPF System.

At the meeting, Mrs. Lau introduced the latest development eMPF Platform project, the most crucial reform initiative ever undertaken by the MPFA since the launch of the MPF System. Mrs. Lau said employers would no longer need to rely on paper and manual processes after the Platform’s full implementation in 2025. Through digitalization, inadvertent errors commonly occurring in the manual preparation of MPF documentation could be avoided, thereby minimizing the chance of overdue payments of MPF contributions and the consequential surcharges imposed on employers.

Mrs. Lau added that apart from employees who would benefit from the cost savings brought about by the Platform, employers, in particular small-and-medium-sized companies, would also find the Platform a handy tool for easing the workload on managing MPF contributions and other relevant administrative tasks. Mrs. Lau trusted that the Platform would be a win-win for both employers and employees.
