MPFA Chairman has a fruitful sharing with cohort of the Financial Leaders Programme of the Academy of Finance on MPF (1 Sep 2022)

 

MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau attended a dialogue with 20 participants in the Financial Leaders Programme of the Academy of Finance from various financial institutions yesterday (1 Sept), in which she discussed the retirement protection framework in Hong Kong, the development and reform initiatives of the MPF System, and the latest progress of the eMPF Platform Project.

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs Lau emphasized the importance of further strengthening Hong Kong’s status as a major international financial centre. She said leveraging the robust and mature financial regulatory framework, the MPF System provides a diverse range of quality products and services to 4.6 million scheme members. She added that after 21 years in operation, the MPF System has reached the midway point of a mature retirement system and that the MPFA will continue to perfect the MPF System with a view to providing better retirement protection for the working population in Hong Kong.

 

 

 

 

MPFA Acting Chief Operating Officer Ms Cynthia Hui, Director (External Affairs) Mr Jonathan Ho and Director (Policy Development and Research) Mr Eric Cheng joined the sharing session to discuss with the participants various aspects of the MPF System.
