MPFA takes proactive actions to recover default contributions for affected employees (19 Oct 2022)

The MPFA is highly concerned about the closure of catering businesses and would take firm enforcement actions against default MPF contribution cases. Upon learning the news about the default on wages and MPF contributions of the catering outlets of the Goldin Financial Group, the MPFA took proactive action to meet with the employees concerned through the Hotels, Food & Beverage Employees Association (HFBEA) today (October 19) to render necessary assistance to affected employees.

The MPFA would carry out enforcement actions including issuance of payment notice to the defaulting employer and filing civil claims on behalf of the affected employees to recover the outstanding MPF contributions. We appeal to affected employees to contact the MPFA immediately via the hotline 2918 0102 or email (mpfa@mpfa.org.hk).
