Former Chairman Dr David Wong conferred as a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance (14 December 2022)
Congratulations to Dr David Wong, former Chairman of the MPFA, who was conferred as a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance (AoF) today for his invaluable contribution in various aspects including economics, finance, education and retirement protection, etc. Dr Wong, the immediate past Chairman of the MPFA from 2015 to 2021, was devoted to championing reforms to enhance the transparency and effectiveness of the MPF System. Under his leadership, the MPFA introduced various enhancement initiatives and other measures which helped lay a solid foundation for the development of the eMPF Platform project.
At the Financial Leaders Programme Graduation Ceremony held on the same day, 17 promising financial talents received their graduation certificates from AoF Directors, including the MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau. Among the graduates was Mr Eric Cheng, Director (Policy Development and Research) of the MPFA.
The AoF was set up in 2019 with the full collaboration of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Securities and Futures Commission, the Insurance Authority and the MPFA. The AoF aims to be a centre of excellence for developing financial leadership, and a repository of knowledge in monetary and financial research.
