Stepping into a New Era of Digital MPF Management (20 Aug 2025)
Mr Wallace Lau, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of MPFA, attended an MPF Forum on 20 August as the Guest of Honour. He shared with over 300 employer representatives and human resources practitioners the functions and latest development of the eMPF.
Mr Lau said that the eMPF standardizes, streamlines, and automates MPF administrative procedures, enabling scheme members to manage all their MPF accounts anytime, anywhere via a mobile app or web portal. With clear and transparent information on their MPF schemes, employees are better equipped to manage their retirement savings through digital means.
2025 is a critical year for the MPF System as we will celebrate the 25th Anniversary on 1 December. Three reform initiatives are underway, namely all MPF trustees to be onboarded the eMPF by end of this year, the abolition of the MPF offsetting arrangement commenced on 1 May, and the preparation for the upcoming implementation of MPF “full portability”. All these initiatives mark a significant step forward in strengthening Hong Kong’s retirement protection system for the working population.
