MPFA drives reforms to enhance retirement protection for scheme members (3 Sep 2025)

MPFA Executive Director (Policy) Eric Cheng attended a retirement industry conference on 3 September to share the latest developments of the MPF System and highlight MPFA’s major reform initiatives in helping scheme members achieve better retirement protection outcomes.

Cheng said that the MPFA is committed to enhancing the MPF System through various reform initiatives aimed at consolidating the value proposition and delivering better performance potential for scheme members.  The launch of the eMPF Platform would transform the MPF ecosystem and pave the way for future reforms, including MPF “full portability”, which would enhance members’ autonomy and foster market competition.  As part of ongoing efforts to improve value for members, the MPFA would continue to refine its investment regulatory regime, and take forward a holistic review of the Default Investment Strategy (DIS) for greater benefits for scheme members.
