MPFA Chief Operating Officer shares the latest MPF reform initiatives with the financial planning community (9 Sep 2025)
MPFA Chief Operating Officer Cynthia Hui delivered a keynote speech at the Financial Planning Conference 2025 on 9 September organized by the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK). At the conference attended by some 300 global and local financial experts, regulators, and government officials, she shared with them the latest developments of the MPF System as well as the eMPF Platform, and highlighted several major reform initiatives of the MPF System.
Cynthia emphasized that the MPF System will celebrate its 25th anniversary in December 2025, with several significant reforms being implemented and rolled out in the year. These include the abolition of the MPF offsetting arrangement effective from 1 May, the development of implementation details and legislative amendments for MPF “full portability”, and the onboarding of all MPF trustees to the eMPF by the end of this year. MPFA is committed to putting scheme members’ interests first and is actively pursuing various reform initiatives to further enhance the MPF System.
