Good MPF Employer Award recognizes a record number of employers
The Good MPF Employer Award (GMEA) 2024-25 has set a new record, with a total of 2,378 companies and organizations, collectively employing over 330,000 people, receiving the award. This represents a 3% increase from the previous year. Organized by the MPFA since 2015, the GMEA has recognized nearly 3,700 exemplary employers, who not only comply with the MPF legislation, but also offer extra retirement protection for their employees.
To duly recognize the GMEA 2024-25 awardees, a series of publicity initiatives including a video series, booklet, newspaper advertorials, social media publicity and a dedicated webpage have been launched this year.
The video series, titled “Good MPF Employers – Care for Your Better Future”, features interviews with eight awardees from companies of different sizes and sectors. They shared how their companies seamlessly integrate retirement protection elements into their unique corporate cultures while deploying innovative approaches to enhance their employees’ wellbeing. The series also featured MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau, who takes on a challenge of interpreting Gen Z buzzwords in the workplace, and Managing Director Mr Cheng Yan-chee, who showcases the qualities that make a good boss through his distinctive dramatic narrative style. Please visit the Good MPF Employer Award webpage to view the videos.
In the meantime, with the launch of the eMPFTM Platform (eMPF) in June 2024 and its full operation expected by the end of this month upon onboarding of the final MPF scheme, the MPF administration work is also set to be completely transformed. The MPFA will take this opportunity to suspend the GMEA temporarily for conducting a thorough review of the programme. This is to ensure that the programme aligns with eMPF and continues to promote the collaborative efforts of employers and employees in fostering a win-win situation. More details will be announced in due course. Companies and organizations recognized as “Good MPF Employer 2024-25” may continue to use the GMEA award title and logo until further notice.
