MPFA Chairman calls on MPF trustees to continually support initiatives for enhancing retirement savings of scheme members (28 September 2023)

 

MPFA Chairman Mrs Ayesha Macpherson Lau and the senior MPFA management team today (28 Sep) met with the chairmen and board members of all MPF trustees, sharing the four major goals of the MPFA to refine the MPF System. She called on all trustees to continually work shoulder to shoulder with the MPFA for enhancing the retirement savings of all MPF scheme members. 

 

 

 

Mrs Lau expounded the four major goals to optimize retirement savings for scheme members, namely improving investment returns, lowering fees, reviewing contribution levels and encouraging voluntary contributions. She also thanked the trustees for their unfailing support and contributions to the eMPF Platform project.

 

 

  

 

“With these continuous efforts to enhance adequacy, I am confident that we can help scheme members build a bigger nest egg for retirement.  With close collaboration between trustees and MPFA, I believe we can achieve these goals and provide the best retirement savings options for scheme members,” Mrs Lau said. 

 

 

 

 

At the meeting, MPFA representatives also shared other topics such as updates on the governance reports of MPF schemes submitted by MPF Trustees. The contractor of eMPF Platform project shared the latest development and onboarding arrangement of the eMPF Platform.

 

 

 

MPFA Managing Director Mr Cheng Yan-chee, Chief Operating Officer Ms Cynthia Hui Wai-yee, Executive Director (Policy) Mr Eric Cheng Siu-fun, eMPF Platform Company Chief Executive Officer Mr Eric Lui Chi-kin, etc., also attended the meeting.
