Good MPF Employer Award 2023-24 now open for applications

The Good MPF Employer Award (GMEA), organized by the MPFA, will mark its 10th anniversary this year. With the theme “Celebrating a Rewarding 10-Year Journey with You”, the GMEA aims to cultivate employers’ MPF responsibility by giving recognition to exemplary employers who strive to enhance retirement protection for their employees. GMEA 2023-24 is now open for applications and nominations until 15 July. 

 

Nearly 3,100 employers had been awarded since the launch of the GMEA in 2015, indicating a growing trend among employers to go the extra mile for the retirement protection of their employees. 

 

To be recognized as a “Good MPF Employer”, employers must have participated in an MPF scheme for at least one year and complied with the MPF legislation. They must also provide additional retirement protection measures for their employees. “Good MPF Employer 5 Years” award and the “Good MPF Employer 10 Years” award will be presented to employers who have received the Good MPF Employer Award for 5 or 10 consecutive years to acknowledge their continuous efforts to enhance their employees’ retirement protection. 

 

Additionally, the “Best All-round MPF Employer” will be awarded to employers that meet all the following five criteria during the 2023-24 award period (from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024): 
(1) received the GMEA for 10 consecutive years; 
(2) offered more than one MPF scheme for their employees to choose from; 
(3) offered MPF voluntary contributions for some or all of their employees; 
(4) received the “e-Contribution Award” (made contribution payments or submitted contribution data electronically and use online methods to submit application for this Award); and
(5) received the “MPF Support Award” (provided employees with support services to help them manage their MPF)

 

For environmental protection and to promote digitization, starting from this year, awarded companies and organizations will receive e-Certificates. This will also make it easier to display the certificates and the "Good MPF Employer" logo on their company websites, social media platforms and other channels to share their stories of being a “Good MPF Employer”. 

 

The awardees will be commended at a recognition event to be held in the last quarter of 2024. From today to 15 July, companies or organizations can directly submit an online application on the Good MPF Employer Award website. Employees and MPF intermediaries are also welcome to nominate their affiliated companies, organizations or employer clients to become “Good MPF Employers”. Employees who made a successful nomination will receive a gift while the MPF intermediaries can attend all core Continuing Professional Development training offered by the MPFA for free in 2025.
